"I Want It That Way" from the repertoire of the American band Backstreet Boys is a song that was released on April 12, 1999 as the lead single from the group's third studio album titled "Millennium." It was written by Max Martin and Andreas Carlsson, while Martin and Kristian Lundin were responsible for the production. It is a pop ballad that is hard not to know. Its lyrics tell the story of the hardships that arise in a relationship when there is emotional and/or physical distance. However, many critics found the song's textual content to be meaningless and a conglomeration of almost random meanings.
