The song "You Belong to the City" was written by Glenn Frey and Jack Tempichin for the 1985 TV show Miami Vice. The song was quite popular, charting at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the Billboard Top Rock chart. The studio album that featured the single "You Belong to the City" reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 200 list and held that honor for 11 weeks, by far the best performance of all of 1985.
The hit "You Belong to the City" was performed by Glenn Frey during the Eagles' 2005 tour. This version was included on the concert DVD Tour I: Live from Malbourne. Frey is responsible for all the musical parts in the song, with the exception of the saxophone, behind which was Michael Huey.
