"Peter Gunn Theme" is a song written by Henry Mancini in 1958, which became the lead for the American crime series of the same name. The song has a rock feel and also became part of the soundtrack for the film The Blues Brothers. With it, Mancinii won an Emmy Award and two Grammy statuettes in the Album of the Year and Best Arrangement categories.

The song "Peter Gunn Theme" is a peculiar blend of rock and jazz, was written on a single chord and has a simple top line. The first version was arranged by Mancini for trumpeter Ray Anthony and recorded by Capitol Records with saxophonist Plas Johnson. Other versions also appeared, but they did not enjoy as much listening. Lyrics to the song were added by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans.
