The song "Shine On" is a song from the repertoire of the band The House of Love, written by Guy Chadwick. The song was first released in 1987 and re-recorded in 1990. Tim Palmer was responsible for the production of the new version, and this time the song was a commercial success. It reached No. 20 on the charts in the UK, No. 24 in Ireland and No. 171 in Australia. The well-known cover of the song "Shine On" in the version of Apoptygma Berzerk and Stephan Groth were released in 2006.
PopMatters magazine placed the song "Shine On" at No. 66 on its list of the best rock songs of the 1980s, praising it for Terry Bickers' guitar and delicate beauty.
