The world has been circulated with the very sad news of the death of the legendary musician, Eddie Van Halen is dead. The news of his death was shared via social media by his son. The musician had been suffering from cancer for years, first of the tongue and then of the throat. The musician mentioned that a possible cause of his illness was the metal guitar picks he put in his mouth while playing concerts.
He was a legend when it came to playing guitar, but he also played keyboards and together with his brother Alex, who played drums in 1972, he formed the legendary band Van Halen. The artist's real name is Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, and he was born in the Netherlands in 1955. Eddie's work is mainly heavy metal music and rock music. This musician has won many prestigious awards and honors. Noteworthy here are the 8th place on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 100 best guitarists of all time in 2011, or the 5th place on Guitar World magazine's list of the 100 best heavy metal guitarists of all time in 2004.
His best known song, is recorded by the aforementioned band Van Halen, the hit Jump. The band itself was hugely popular around the world and in the U.S. was considered one of the most important bands playing hard rock music. Ritchie Blackmore, star of the band Deep Purple, once mentioned:
