Sting has revealed the release date for his new album entitled "My Songs." All fans of the singer will have to wait until May 24 for the release.

Unfortunately, it will not be a typical album but only a collection of Sting's greatest hits in a new, modernized edition. The album will reportedly include 17 songs and among them will be Desert Rose from 2003, the very big 1987 hit that is Englishman in New York or Fields Of Gold and Shape of My Heart from 1993.

The full list of songs that will be on the My Songs album:

  • Brand New Day
  • Desert Rose
  • If You Love Somebody Set Them Free
  • Every Breath You Take
  • Demolition Man
  • Can't Stand Losing You
  • Fields of Gold
  • So Lonely
  • Shape of My Heart
  • Message in a Bottle
  • Fragile
  • Walking on the Moon
  • Englishman in New York
  • If I Ever Lose My Faith in You
  • Roxanne (Live)

The former leader and founder of the zepso band The Police also revealed what we can expect from the new album. As he stated, some of the songs have been remastered, others have been rearranged, while all will have a contemporary and more modern feel.

Will it be another reheated chop in the music market, going for the easy way to make easy money? Or will it be a new, interesting and original take on this artist's old work? Time will tell, we are certainly eager to get acquainted with this album, and what do you think?
