The song Dancing With Myself was recorded in 1980 by the Gen X band and released in the UK, where, however, it was not very successful. A year later, another approach to this song was made by the lead singer of this band Billy Idol. In 1981 he recorded and once again his own version of this song in the US. And it is this second version of this song that I would like to present to you today. The inspiration for this hit song came from a visit by the band Generation X to Japan, there Billy Idol and his bass player ended up in a disco where they were shocked by the sight of young people dancing to their reflections in mirrors hanging on the wall, instead of among themselves.
