"Weekend" is a song from the repertoire of Dutch band Earth and Fire, which was released as a single in November 1979. The song reached number one on the charts in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany and Portugal. Its author is keyboardist Gerard Koerts, who wrote the song for the album "Reality Fills Fantasy." The B-side of the single features the song "Answer Me" by Chris Koerts and Bert Ruiter.
Many people may know the melody from this song from various other songs, the hit has been sampled many times by many other artists. One of the most famous songs using samples from this song is, for example, przebój zespołu Scooter "Weekend", or KID Q with the song "This Feeling".
