Eddy Grant - Baby Come Back is a song written by Eddy Grant, and originally performed and recorded by him and the rest of the band The Equals. The song was a mix of rock and roll and rhythm to reflect the sounds in London in1960. It was first released in 1966, a year after the band was formed, but failed to chart in the UK. Only after impressive sales throughout Europe (reaching No. 1 in Belgium and the Netherlands), the song was re-released on May 1, 1968 and reached No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart on July 3, 1968 and stayed there for three weeks.
