Europe - Carrie from 1987 is a hit and musical ballad released by this Swedish band playing Glam Rock and Hard Rock music. It was the third single from the album "The Final Countdown," and also number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (No. 1 on the charts) in the US. The song was written by vocalist Joey Tempest and keyboardist Mic Michaeli in 1985. An early version of the song, which consisted only of keyboard and singing, was performed during a tour in Sweden that same year. The demo version was similar, and the final version found on the album "The Final Countdown" was recorded with the entire group. The last very interesting performance of this song is the version recorded with the Tempset band and performed with acoustic guitar accompaniment.
