"Hero" is a single by Swedish hard rock band Europe. It was released on September 20, 2004, as the second single from the album "Start from the Dark." The song was written by vocalist Joey Tempest as a tribute to Phil Lynott, leader of the Irish rock band Thin Lizzy, and was inspired by an encounter with him. The video for the song is about aspiring young rock musicians and is punctuated by clips from the Europe tour. The video is a tribute to Phil Lynott. You are invited to see Europe - Hero.
