Joe Dassin is a French singer born in the US in 1938, who was the first French artist to be signed to an American music label. He has 13 studio albums and 69 singles to his credit. He is one of the better-known representatives of French music. Joe Dasin died unexpectedly in 1980 of a heart attack during his vacation in Tahiti at just 41 years old. In 1966, he got married for the first time to Maryse Massiéra. Seven years later in 1973, a son was born to them; the premature baby was born as much as two and a half months premature and died after five days. After this tragic event, Dassin fell into depression and his marriage broke up in 1977. A year later he remarried and in 1978 their first son was born. The second one was born in 1980 a few months later Joe died. Joe Dassin left behind many beautiful hits, it is worth mentioning here for example the song Taka Takata, which we added a few days ago. In this post I would like to introduce you to one of his greatest hits by this artist, the song Salut.
