Joe Dassin is a French singer, born in 1938 in the United States, who has had several memorable hits. One of his most recognizable songs is undoubtedly the song Taka Takata. But let's return to the French version of this hit performed by Joe Dassin and the singer himself. Probably few people remember this today, but it is worth mentioning that this artist has Polish roots. Well, Dassin's father came from a Polish-Ukrainian family that emigrated to the US when the singer's father was still a child. In the 1950s, Dassin's father decided to return with his family to Europe. Joe earned further degrees in Switzerland and France. Later he returned to the US where he studied at the University of Michigan, among others. After years of study, he again returned to France where he has settled permanently. He was the first French artist to sign with an American music label in 1964. His talent could not be denied, he created and sang songs in various languages such as French, German, Italian, Spanish, Greek and English.
