"What a Wonderful World" is a song written by Bob Thiele and George David Weiss. It was first performed by Louis Armstrong, written especially for him and released on a single in early 1968. The song gradually became a standard and reached a new level of popularity when it was included on the soundtrack album for the 1987 film Good Morning, Vietnam starring Robin Williams. It was also used in the films: 1995's 12 Monkeys and 1998's Joe Black. The song was originally intended as a kind of remedy for the growing racism and tense political situation in the United States.
