"Loaded" is a song from the repertoire of Scottish rock band Primal Scream, released in February 1990 as a single from the group's third studio album titled "Screamadelica." Andrew Weatherall is responsible for the production and sound, while Loaded is a remix of the band's earlier song "I'm Losing More Than I'll Ever Have." In 2012, NME listed the song as one of the 500th best songs of all time, which is no small achievement.
Primal Scream met Andrew Weatherall shortly after the latter published a positive review of their second album. The meeting led to a collaboration, and as Andrew was a DJ he was offered to create a remix of the aforementioned song for £500. "Loaded" reached #16 on the UK singles chart, also becoming the group's first hit in the UK. The B-side of the single featured another remix, this time prepared by Pat Collier.
As a point of interest, it is worth mentioning that Muzik magazine listed the song "Loaded" as one of the 50th Most Influential Dance Songs of All Time, and considered the band's entire album Primal Scream as independent and innovative, undeniably important in the history of popular music.
