Sylvester James, Jr. is a singer and songwriter born in 1947 in Los Angeles. He is known by his artistic pseudonym "Sylvester." He is mostly known for his disco and soul hits and was interested in music itself from an early age. As a child he enrolled in his parish's gospel choir, but as he grew up the parish authorities began to speak negatively about his homosexual nature. at first the singer was not very successful, but the situation changed quite significantly in 1978 when the single "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" was released. It was the best song of his career and to this day one of the classics of disco music. But in order... Initially, the song was a rather slow song played on a gospel-style piano. After music producer Patrick Cowley heard the song he offered to modernize and remix it. Sylvester agreed, thanks to which the song "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" became one of the pioneers of disco music using electronic themes. It was very similar to what Donna Summer used in her songs. It can even be said that such songs were the pioneers of disco and laid the foundation for disco music in the 1980s.
