The hit song "Hold On" is from the repertoire of the American vocal group Wilson Phillips. The song was released on February 27, 1990 as the lead single from the band's debut album titled Wilson Phillips. The single quickly became very popular, reaching the top of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song won a Billboard Music Award as one of the 100 most popular singles of 1990. It also received a Grammy nomination in the Song of the Year category, although the award ultimately went to Julie Gold and her song "From a Distance."

The lyrics to the song "Hold On" were written by Chynna Phillips, and it deals with struggling with drugs and being in a relationship that can be called really bad. Phillips based the lyrics on principles taught in the Alcoholics Anonymous community.
