Denis Roussos is a widely known singer of Greek descent around the world. Although he was born in Egypt, where his parents emigrated, he spent most of his life in Greece, where he also died. Demis is considered one of the more famous singers of the 1970s who did not sing in English. He also collaborated with several other groups before making a name for himself as a solo singer. None of them, however, were as successful as Demis. Despite the fact that in the 1970s songs performed by mostly Americans reigned supreme on the charts of almost all countries, his many hits such as Demis Roussos - My Friend The Wind and Demis Roussos - Goodbye My Love took the top spots on major radio stations for a long time. Demis Roussos also took part in numerous festivals where he gave performances. He also visited Poland several times during his long career. His peak career lasted from the early 1970s until the 1980s after time ty, however, in 2006 the singer again undertook the recording of another album, which was very well received by the singer's old and new fans. The album harkened back to the early rock of the 1960s.
