The song "How Do You Do" is from the repertoire of James Last, also known as Hansi, a German composer and leader of the James Last Orchestra. His trademark was happy arrangements, and many of his albums became worldwide bestsellers. His greatest success was his composition for "Happy Heart," which gained international popularity with interpretations by Andy Williams and Petula Clark.

It is estimated that James Last sold about 200 million records worldwide during his lifetime - an undoubtedly impressive result. The artist has won a number of awards - 200 gold records, 14 platinum records and an international MIDEM award at the highly popular "Marché International du Disque et de l'Edition Musicale" music fair in 1969. James Last's trademark was big-band arrangements of well-known tunes, with a lively, danceable rhythm, heavy bass and brass accompaniment. His style and music were popular in many European countries, Japan and the US. To this day, he remains one of Germany's most popular musicians.
