Music video description

Harry Nilsson is an American singer and songwriter born in 1941. He came from a very poor neighborhood in Brooklyn at the time and decided to escape from it as a teenager. He moved out to Los Angeles where he started working in one of the banks as a programmer. There, his love for music, its creation and singing began to grow. At first the songs he sang were by other bands such as The Monkees. In this post I would like to introduce you to the song Everybody's Talkin' as performed by him. This song was written as early as 1966 and it was written by Fred Neil. However, it was not until it was sung by Harry Nilsson that it gained international success. The hit also brought Nilsson a Grammy award and in 1994 it was heard in the cult film Forrest Gump. In 1968 Harry Nilsson was looking for songs for his new album and that's how he came across Everybody's Talkin'. He liked the song so much that he decided to record his own version of it. It ended up on his album Aerial Ballet in 1968, and it was also released as a single that year. However, this first release did not gain much popularity occupying a very distant place on the charts. The breakthrough came a year later in 1969 when the song was used in the film "Night Cowboy." The filmmakers decided to release it once again as a single, and only this version of the single climbed to the top of the charts. The song Harry Nilsson - Everybody's Talkin' became not only a worldwide musical hit, but also the theme song of the film.
