The turning point in the career of this band was the recording of music for the film Saturday Night Fever released as a soundtrack under the title Saturday Night Fever. Both the film and their soundtrack generated a great if not enormous response in mass culture around the world, bringing the newly created disco style into the mainstream music of the time. Remarkably, the brothers created the tracks in a single weekend. To this day, the soundtrack from this film is the best-selling soundtrack in music history.
