Music video description

Billy Joel is a famous American singer of rock and pop music, who has been known in the music market since the mid-1960s. His greatest activity was in the 1970s and 1980s, while in the 1990s he released only one studio album entitled "River of Dreams" in 1993. In this post I would like to focus specifically on this album and more specifically on the song "The River of Dreams", which was the first single promoting this album. At the same time it was the biggest hit from this album. While mentioning this song, it is worth mentioning that this song received a nomination for the Grammy Awards for best song. However, in the end Billy lost the competition and had to give way to Whitney Houston with her big hit "I Will Always Love You." Another noteworthy fact from those Grammy awards was that the singer interrupted his performance at the ceremony to protest the fact that the broadcast of Frank Sinatra's speech was interrupted by commercials. According to him, this was done reprehensibly because Frank was talking about his life achievements and such speeches by such great artists should not be interrupted by commercials. After a short break, during which he delivered his criticism, he continued his performance. As for the video itself, a keen eye can see many similarities to Elton John's 1990 video for the song You Gotta Love Someone. One can see the same locations, light play or camera movements in them. Both music videos were directed by the same person namely Andy Morahan. And finally, I can't help but invite you to the music video Billy Joel - The River of Dreams.
